Head and Shoulders
Head and shoulders is a reversal pattern of three peaks, the middle one highest, that suggests an uptrend is ending when the neckline breaks.
It forms as price makes a peak (left shoulder), a higher peak (head) and a lower peak again (right shoulder), with a neckline joining the lows between them. A close below the neckline completes it, and traders project the pattern's height down from the break as a target.
Our detector flags forming head and shoulders patterns live and grades them across the largest coins: see the head and shoulders hub. The inverted version, at lows, is the inverse head and shoulders.
