A coin is 'oversold' when its 14-period RSI drops to 30 or lower, meaning selling has been unusually fast and strong. Historically this raises the odds of at least a short-term bounce — but oversold does not mean cheap, and in strong downtrends RSI can stay oversold for a long time.

The signal works best as a mean-reversion cue in ranging markets, ideally confirmed by RSI turning back up out of the zone or price holding a support level. Read the full RSI guide.
